About the Role

As a Global Accounts Sales Engineer, you will develop and manage external stakeholder relationships with global OEM prospects and customers building computer-vision solutions for robotics, drones, autonomous vehicles, and advanced imaging applications as the primary technical-commercial point of contact. You’ll translate customer requirements into optical and imaging solutions that win design-ins and scale to international production.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Kearny Mesa, San Diego, CA working alongside optical design leaders enabling machines to see the physical world.

What You'll Do

  • Own inbound and outbound OEM prospect and customer relationships from initial conversation through technical discovery, design-in, and production
  • Identify, prospect, qualify, and grow opportunities across robotics, drones, autonomous systems, and industrial imaging markets
  • Translate customer technical requirements into optical and imaging solutions by collaborating closely with Engineering on custom designs
  • Support design-in sales efforts by aligning customer needs, specifications, timelines, and manufacturing constraints
  • Prepare quotes, manage orders, and serve as the primary technical-commercial point of contact throughout the customer lifecycle
  • Represent the company at industry events and trade shows (SPIE, Automate, VISION, and similar)
  • Build long-term credibility as a technical partner rather than a transactional salesperson

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field (Engineering, Physics, Optical Sciences, or related discipline)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage engineering leaders, product teams, and technical decision-makers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a bias toward hands-on ownership
  • Highly organized, self-managing, and accountable for outcomes
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in Kearny Mesa, San Diego, CA Monday–Friday
  • Enthusiasm for a small-team environment with high ownership, fast feedback loops, and visible impact

Preferred Experience:

  • 1+ year of experience in a STEM technical role or STEM customer-facing role
  • Exposure to optics, imaging systems, cameras, robotics, drones, autonomous vehicles, or computer-vision-enabled products
  • Experience supporting OEM customers, engineering teams, or hardware design-in cycles

Compensation

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $80,000-$95,000, based on your experience, qualifications, and job-related factors. This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus and includes a path to commission-based earnings as your impact in the role develops.

Final compensation will be determined during the selection process and may vary accordingly.
